**FIXED** Computer problems

hay guys this is spartan1106 i haven't been playing lately because one of my friends got a virus on my computer. i've been trying to install halo on my pc again but when i put in the cd nothing happens if you know how i can fix this please comment! :AOL:   :'(

Where to begin?!?


What DOES happen when you put the CD in?  Does the drive spin up?  Does it seek & then keep seeking? (Little light stays on/continues to always flash forever....) Is the drive listed in your My Computer??

Also, it's generally inside the case, else people wouldn't need to buy the game to get the unique key, hence making the whole point of the key...pointless.  :P

And i'm guessing the CD is kept away from the case, so it's not as simple as that... Good luck finding it.  :doh:

Yes, the CD case is in the box. But the key itself is on the back of the case of where the CD came in. I dunno what your talking about. lol

Ssh,

UK versions don't come with a box, just the case, so the CD key is inside, my bad...  :neckbeard:

No, if you didn't pay for the key, that would be illegal??! (I think)

Im not sure about this but  if you've had it installed on your pc before, shouldn't the registry files for it still be there? And if they are, isn't there a way to recover your key code from it.

no when the virus was on my computer it hid its self behind stuf so i had to delet everything then i callled geeksquad and to get it off they had to delete everything on my computer.       and if i contacted a bungie member and showed em everything i got wouldnt they give me a new key code?
 

dont look like ill be playing halo any time soon

Nope.

If you've deleted it off of your machine (too bad, 'cuz it IS recoverable while installed, even if Halo wasn't working  :'( ) and its lost its gone now.

I doubt VERY much that anyone would "give" you a new CD key: How would they know 1) you haven't done this with them before, and 2) you're being honest with them, and not just trying to scam another key?

Frankly, from their perspective: why don't you just shell out the $20 and get a new one?

(And I'm STILL looking for the lowest $ for an actual new Halo CD key for LAN gaming.... Please PM me if you have any source for @/under $10....)

well i wont be buyin a new one any time soon but i might get xbox live sometime this week. if you have it, is it worth it?
