World In Conflict (PC)
« on: July 23, 2008, 10:41:19 AM »
I was bored and decided to waste some time by looking at computer reviews at CNET. I noticed one of their benchmark tests involved a game called "World In Conflict" so I figured I'd take a look at it. Doing a bit more research, I saw that it's a strategy games; I'm a huge fan of strategies. I love Age of Empires II and Rise of Nations.

Personally, I've yet to find any games that really stack up to those two. However, this one looked like it had a lot of promise. Has anyone played it?

this game is one of THE BEST strategy games of its type. you only have units. no command and conquer style building, you have a set amount of points to spend on units that is replenished. you select different types etc depending on your speciality. A really good game. I only just pulled my addiction. and that was just single player skirmishing. I couldn't get off it for months. it was that good. The AI is challenging but can be a bit stupid, or waaaaay too good with artillery (they can see everyfriggingthing >< its not fair)

the special bonus powers are a bit stupid. the nuke for one but other then that its immense and deep

I've heard some good things about this game but have not played it myself and none of my gamer mates do either. This is something I may look at buying if it ever comes down in price...:toughguy: ($89 I think it is...)

Well the 8GB HD space steered me away from it...I don't even have 2 GB free.

Can I reccommend an external hard drive? Very useful for games I've found :)

Oh, believe me, I've looked into them. :P

I'd rather save my money though than spend even a seemingly minuscule amount on an external HD.
