Nice thread idea!
(Really!)I must say... I've never thought about it tho! (Franky my family has historically had more of a large wake than a "funeral" to mark someone's passing....)
Given that I already know the band that will play at mine, and my family's own morbid sense of humor, I'll leave it up to them. (Despite
my extreme diversity in musical taste and warped sense of humor, I'm sure they'll do well!)
However, perhaps a short list to "seed" their efforts would do well.
I'll now take the following list and "pass it along" for when the time comes:
- We May Never Pass This Way Again - Seals & Crofts
- Hotel California - The Eagles ("...checkout, but you can never leave...")- The (Dude) Went Down to Georgia - The Charlie Daniels Band
- Viva Las Vegas - Elvis Presley (It's an inside-family thing....)- Fanfare for the Common Man - Aaron Copland (Req: A great sound system!)- Beat It - Michael Jackson
...Suffice to say, now that I've thought about this I'm going to make a postmortem pain of myself and stipulate that
EVERY song played
HAS to have some kind of "morbid connection" to myself, or my "current state!"
That'll keep 'em busy!
P.S. No "gravestones" or permanent reminders for me. But a plaque that reads
"What'd he do NOW?!" somewhere might be a nice remembrance!
