Simple Idea for a BFM Olympics

What about an olmpic map set. Here is a list of events with map ideas and rule ideas:


• Knockout Race
• • Rules
  • • Players race with no gunners in hogs.
    • We have time trials for spot placement.
    • The last person each lap is knocked out.
    • Foul play is not allowed, except slight bumps in the rear.
    • This is a test of racing skill.
  • Map Idea
  • • Regular oval with a starting line, and a pit row with hog respawn points and health.
    • A creative way of making stands for judges.
• Team Hog Derby
• • Rules
  • • Players race with gunners and passengers in hogs.
    • We have time trials for spot placement.
    • We will have two races one with the chain gun and the other with the rocket hogs.
    • Foul play is not allowed from the drivers, except slight bumps in the rear.
    • This is a test of racing skill as well as gunnery and teamwork.
    • They can use the pit row to get fresh hogs if need be as well as health and weapons.
    • No shooting in pit lane

• Target Shooting

  • • Players are gunners and have one driver for everyone.
    • Some passes are straight and some have turns and some will shoot back.
    • We use rocket hogs and machine gun hogs.
    • There will be another one for passengers with different classes for weapons.
    • The targets will be players on the other team. There name will be their postition and point value:
      • Driver Still 3
      • Passenger Still 3
      • Gunner Still 3
      • Walker Still 2
      • Driver Mobile 5
      • Passenger Mobile 5
      • Gunner Mobile 5
      • Walker Mobile 4
      • This is a test of gunnery skill.
    • Map Idea
    • • Just like a straight track with sections that have different layouts and terrain.
      • A creative way of making stands for judges.

Umm i like it but there are a few issues..

Some people would miss out because of the time difference and it would be really hard to set up.
But other then that I think its a good idea.

We did actually used to hold a BFM Olympics, we had various games set up on normal Halo and compete in them for fun. We had a number of events like bumper-cars and basketball. Making specific maps would be hard work and take a lot of time, but it's a good idea

nothing is ever easy but lets make the maps first to see if it will work.

we can have the judges in banshees flying around and have one on the finish line running fraps for the whole race as record.
so we would also have to make more specific rules, so there is no confusion.

Hey they could make there own graphics for their hogs. And make them look more like racecars.

Lol. It is a really good idea. As we found out about 2.5 years ago when our very own MrMxyzptlk hosted the first ever BFM Olympics, it is a HUGE administrative task. It requires motivation from everyone in the clan and hundreds of hours planning from people all throughout BFM and the community. We would really love to get something like this done, and we started to plan a 2nd Olympiad but it became too much work.

If you want you can talk to BFM_SirTaco about this idea and get him motivated again - he seems to be our unofficial events organiser .

nice idea, although it would be REALLY HARD to make all those maps, as it takes hours upon hours to even make one of any quality.

hey i just realized why make maps? If we can find them I found Yoshi's Raceway, which we can use for the oval tracks. But can someone add 2 banshees? and have another map with obstacles? And the circle thing should be easy.
