Who will win the World Series???

Believe it or not, I'm going with the Phillies!   So its down to 4 teams, who do you think will win? 

The Rays
The Red Sox
The Dodgers
The Phillies

Look for me Thursday, I'll be standing by the right field foul pole! lol

Here is a photo I took from Harry the K's of the Phillies after clinching the division last week.  I love that Charlie Manuel (the manager) is just sitting in the dugout smiling at the team that he said made him such a good manager.   Whoever wins, there should be some great games!!!

LOL I've been around and put in my time with much grief as a Phillies fan! 

I spend the 70s as a kid playing alot of baseball and watching the Phillies.  I used to go to games when the tickets for kids in the bleachers (serious "nosebleed" territory) were fifty cents!  Man I'm old.   My dad took me to the 1980 victory parade on Broad Street in Philly.  Funny story there, we were in the drive through at McDonalds with my dad and my brother listening to playoff game 5 I think it was between the Phillies and Astros.  In the 7th or 8th, Joe Morgan of the Astros hit a double and the Phils gave up the lead and faced imminent elimination.  I was so mad and upset that I started crying and banging my head on the Jeep seat (I was 11 lol).  It was such a ridiculous tantrum that my dad, who likely was just as upset as I was but adult about it, shut off the radio and the game.  We missed the Phillies comeback and didn't find out until 3 hours later after moping around in the Jeep for all that time, that the Phillies came back and won it!  My older brother who used to make fun of me when the Dallas Cowboys would lose (I was a big Dallas fan don't ask me why) knew better than to make fun that day!  I think that even he was upset about it although he was a hunter/fisherman and not into team sports.   

Later in life, I worked in Washington DC in the 90s and drove up from DC at 5 pm sharp (could not get out of work sooner) and was able to see the Phils clinch against the Braves in 1993 (I'm still snickering about that lol) and then get beat in the world series which I got to see one game in the upper level but right behind home plate at the Vet.  Seeing them demolish the Vet was sad, sweetened only by how awesome the new park is.   

Now after last season mooching off a good friend who had season tickets, I got a Sunday package season tickets and was lucky enough to see the clincher and go to some playoff games and I'm going again Thursday and Friday. 

So now you know! LOL  GO PHILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although I didn't know why you were a Phillies fan, I knew you were from your sig... I was being sarcastic.  :P :LOL: So that means the essay was all for nought!   :-X O well, end result will be Rays pwn all! :evil:

Phillies and Dodgers should be an interesting series, but go Dodgers says the Yankees fan (and Joe Torre fan) in me (I'm not gonna be mean to the starter of the thread and say they get swept...I say Dodgers win in 6)

Rays and Red Sox...no contest. Rays were amazing against them all season and now that Mike Lowell is done for the season the Red Sox have no hope, so Rays win (probably in 5 if the Red Sox can pull out a win in Fenway)

Hmm...Rays and Dodgers...I was trying to tell my friends starting in early March (right around my birthday actually) "Yanks and Dodgers in the World Series, just you wait!"....well I got it half right I guess? It's still fitting the winner of the AL East is in it again, even if the Yankees didn't make it  :'(. But I digress...While the Rays are a great team and a great story, I say the Dodgers with the experienced leadership of Torre and some of the vets (although it hurts me to say this...Manny too  :bang: ). It will be a hard fought battle though, but Dodgers pull it out in 7.

Man I never thought I was gonna be rooting for an LA team a year ago from today... :undecided:

Cinderella story = Rays

Rays deserve this .I hope they go all the way.I would like to see the Phillies and Rays in the World Series.They are both the Most improved deserving teams.
