Heya. Since my old thread was updated and Spood's got the Gimp section done i thought id do a tutorial for Photoshop CS2.
Now it is standard in all windows computer's 2000 >. Some might even have CS3 execpt its basicly the same.

Which do You Prefer? Gimp or Photoshop?
I would said Photoshop as i find it more friendly and easy to use. But sometimes i use gimp when im on my laptop. Its All about prefrence.

< Basic Sigs >
Step 1. Find an Image you would like to use on your sig. Go to File>new>Ok.
It would have already sized this picture for you as it does it by itself.
Im using this months competion render. To show you.
2. Cutting out an image. Mostly alot of people dont know how to. And end up just writing random text on it. Cutting out an image is important and it looks a whole LOT better.
Find the button that looks like a magic wand and has sparkles coming out of it. It is even named magic wand
.
Select the area AROUND the area you want. the when you got all of it. right click and press select inverse. New layer. The little page button. and copy it in.
Next find a backround that you would like to use. Or simply just google or go to

I really like this render and it goes well with my first off picture.
Add new layer which is in the layer section it should be already open for you. It looks like a page.
now copy and paste the render in. It doesnt look very good now does it? just a plain picture with gold around it..
Now to add some cool effects!. In the layers box there is a scroll window which you open and select "Overlay" Make sure the Gold layer is on top. Now the picture below is visable and has a gold tinge to it.
TEXT Time.
(*)Use The text button. Everyone knows it it just has a big T in the middle of it.
Add Any text you want or just simply your name.
. Adding a Border.
<><>Merge all those toghther by clicking on them while holding shift. Press rift click merge.
Go Edit>Stoke> 2pk.
. Now Upload it to a website of your choice. save it first as a Jpg. As its one of the asiet to compatibily. also save is as a psd incase you want to do more to it.

Creating your own render and backround!.
Part 2.
Heya. When you have a render and can find a backround that works well. Make one!
Ill show you how.
Get A picture.
1. Make multiple pictures of it in a 400 x 150 box. or the size of your sig. Now keep copy and pasting in the render you want to use. differnt sizes work well! and contrast helps too.
2. Pick a colour you want to use and make a new layer and fill it with that colour.
3. make it so that the setting is on " overlay"
3.merge them both toghther and go >filter>blur Gassian>40>ok.
4.Filter>Blur>motion blur. 1.5 >Ok.
It's all about what blurs and stuff you want. Have a look through it and pick whihc ones you like and if you dont like em. There always undo!
5.merge it all toghther and put the main render on top.
6. Make a border. See <
><>7. Add text see.
