I have an old computer and it is not recognizing the "D" drive at all. It's running Windows 95  for now. Mxy, any suggestions?

Thanks to Manticore for that!

All I can suggest it trying to recognize it in the BIOS.  Do you know how to get into the BIOS when your machine boots up?  On mine you press Del.  Sometimes it's F1 or F9 I think.

Anyway, once in you can see if it will detect your drive.  I'm a bit vague about what's in there, but you can look at your drives and your boot sequence and see if it lists your drive.

Did you check the cabling, nothing loose?

:AOL: :AOL: :AOL: :AOL: :AOL: :AOL: :AOL: :AOL: I'm 99% sure that it was recognized in the BIOS> I even powered down the system and tried a different drive that I KNOW works. Whenever I go into "My Computer" and punch in "D:\" it says that it can't go there because it was moved or deleted or something along those lines. *sighs*  Dang computers...

Mxy wants to know if it is internal/external, hard drive, optical drive, floppy drive, etc. etc.

Ohhhhhhh, okay. I was confused when he said that. It's an internal DVD ROM drive.

Thanks to Manticore for that!
