I'll take it!

You are the one who can make us all laugh
But doing that you break out in tears.
Please don't be sad, if it was a straight mind you had,
We wouldn't have known you all these years.

Oh, they also did it also? I was thinking Traffic/Steve Winwood.

We'll count it as a win, go Mxy!

Also, also, also.  (spare alsos, in case I didn't use enough in the first sentence)

From wikipedia:

Dear Mr. Fantasy" is a rock song by Traffic off their 1967 album, Mr. Fantasy. An extended (10:57) live version of the song also appears on the 1971 Traffic album Welcome to the Canteen. It was written by Jim Capaldi, Steve Winwood, and Chris Wood, although Winwood took on most of the musical construction of the song and sang it on the album

The song has been covered by Canadian rock band Big Sugar in 1995, Jimi Hendrix and by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

>Mxy realizes that he does not even own a Traffic song, much less an album and goes to correct THAT problem post-haste!<

K, then... now playing on KMXY radio! (ROFL! I'm sorry, but I just HAVE to try this and see if anyone gets it!):

Have mercy....

Aheya, haw, haw, haw.
Aheh.
A haw, haw, haw.

It's ZZ Top.  Don't know the song.

...but....I....might....be...mistaaaken...!!  haw haw haw haw!

I have some of their albums, but not this song, and everytime I hear it I tell myself to figure out what song it is and D/L it, so when someone comes up with the answer I'll know what song to get.   Thank you Mxy!

If it's ZZ Top, does that make the song La Grange? That's the only one with haw haw noises, though I don't remember a "have mercy".

 How would you know it's ZZ Top?!

Going off the lyrics of La Grange that I found on Google :D, it does look like you're correct JANE!

I can't take credit for that, as I wouldn't have gotten it without the ZZ Top hint, IF I've got it at all. Mxy and his shenanigans! Kiwi's a freak for recognizing it, IF he's right! :P

So we are all in agreement then:...

Kiwi's a freak.

...And he's UP NOW!

(La Grange by ZZ Top it was!)

...And I gotta admit, that was kewl that it got recognized from just that snipet!  (Although I was pretty sure someone would get it!)

There's no way I would have gotten it.... Anyway!

Cool breeze come on in
Sunshine come on down
These are the tear drops of the clown
Circus is coming to town
All I’m saying is sometimes I’m more scared of myself
You better - move!
I said - move!

Fine, it's "Run" by Gnarls Barkley. Some of you may have heard his other song "Crazy" but I don't know if they ever played "Run" on the radio. If not, no one would really know the song. I don't know how I came across it, probably iTunes and their sneaky recommendations... Anyway, I heart it. :P

New lyrics!

The world was on fire
No one could save me but you
Strange what desire will make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you

Well I BETTER get THIS one, seeing that I have ALL his stuff and see him play regularly here in the Bay Area!  (FYI: I consider him to be a Surf genre guitarist, and "Surf" ROCKS the Bay Area!)

Wicked Game by Chris Isaak!

K, I KNOW that's it, so next is:

'World turns black and white
Pictures in an empty room
Your love starts fallin' down
Better change your tune
Yeah, you reach for the golden ring
Reach for the sky
Baby, just spread your wings
