Finals are this weeeeeeekennnnnnnnndd.... Congratz to the teams that made it to the end!
I played in the last half of a captains scrim a year ago. While our team didn't make it to the playoffs (or whatever you'd call them), it was the most fun I've ever had in Halo. Not just with the people, but with the game itself too.
I hardly ever scrim and in the public servers, wins and losses don't really matter five seconds after the game is over. At least not to me. Even during the game, I really don't care if I win or lose, I just enjoy playing with other peeps and the game brings them all together.
The scrims were TOTALLY different. Every map was really exciting and intense, especially toward the end. At the end of the maps, if we won, there were lots of yay's and sighs of relief and virtual high fives, lol. And the losses sucked! It was so easy to carry the frustration and disappointment to the next map, even with the team captain/LT saying "we'll get them this time, this is our map!" I don't think I breathed during the race, just a little between maps. Probably why we lost.
I don't know how many of "the best" players there are in these scrims, but they definitely put more heart into the game than you can find in any public server. You could race for years and think you know the game, but if you've never scrimmed with a bunch of dedicated Haloers, you're missing out. If you get a chance to scrim, then you'll know:
"THIS is team race. This is what I'm looking for when I want to play the game."Good luck to the two teams, can't wait to see who comes out on top this season!
