iPod Weirdness
« on: August 16, 2009, 03:21:21 PM »
I have a First Generation iPod Touch with the software updated to 3.0, so it's literally like teaching an old dog new tricks and I still love it.

Recently I've been having issues with the iTunes store on the iPod itself. Here's the situation: Whenever I buy a song on the mobile iTunes, it puts it in the purchased section of my iPod where I can now play it. But when I go to iTunes and put the songs I bought in a playlist, it doesn't show up on my iPod. It clearly shows on iTunes that the songs are really there, but for some reason the iPod doesn't recognize it.

My guess is that because the songs aren't in my library on my computer that it doesn't treat them as songs I actually bought from there. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

Oh while I'm here there's something I always wondered: Why does my computer pick up my iPod as a camera when there is clearly no device that allows me to take pictures??

That's definitely some weird stuff.  I have a 1st iPod Touch also, but I'm still using an old firmware version though.  Probably I shouldn't upgrade it.  Let me know if you ever find a solution to your issues.

I Have one to and no problems.
Before you sync your IPod make sure you check your music tab so it will sync what you need.
You have to chose your options.
Hope it will help.

Well considering the fact that I've consistently lost a little bit of music at a time after each reformat, it comes out to me only having 110+ songs on my iTunes library while I have 320+ on my iPod. This means if I sync I lose over 200 songs, which is what I DON'T want to happen :-\

Save them all to your pc first: http://www.bfmracing.net/forums/index.php?topic=4840.0

That won't work, because my computer thinks my iPod is a camera

Ok I think I narrowed the issue down to this: Because my computer thinks my iPod is a camera it won't let me use Igor's method of pulling all my songs and putting them in my library. The reason it thinks my iPod is a camera is because I have pictures on it that I uploaded to it. So the question becomes if I can find a simple way of deleting all those pictures on the iPod. Any ideas?

Thank you Tanger!
