Akuma's New Siggy (I Made It Myself)
« on: January 23, 2010, 10:10:06 PM »
I made this signature today!  This was my first time trying out Adobe Photoshop, so please do not be too brutal.  Believe it or not, this thing took me all day long.  Would each of you please comment and rate it as well?  I am still not sure if i like the fast or slow pulsation more (learning toward the fast, I admit).  =]

I rotated it. I cropped it.  I adjusted the colors to be darker so that it would favor the deep red I wanted to use.  The original render was too bright and dull in color.  I added a red/white glow border around the Akuma character.  The borders caused problems and I had to find special ways to get around them.  The borders insisted upon applying themselves to the whole picture, but I figured it out.  I used a couple of special brushes for the background.  The font is Grave Digger, which also has a red glow border.  I also added the animation with the Multiply effect.

I almost decided to change the pink, but in the end decided the pink was probably the best color to use, although it might be best darkened into a deeper shade.

note:  The top one is about 3x quicker.

(The images have been removed.  The signature has been completely finished and is now at the bottom of this post as my real official signature.)

Oh, and if anybody was curious, here is the original render:

I like the bottom a bit more, the top is a bit too flashy for my taste's. But the actual sig itself is very good, gj :)

Well it appears we have a winner:  the faster signature.  Thanks everybody for the comments.  I do appreciate the helping kind words.  This really was my first Photoshop signature and I was not too proud of it at first, but I am definitely growing very fond of it now.

To add on to the discussion, I changed my display picture.  Does the DP look good how it is?  I could throw in a couple more techniques, but it would be a much larger file size as well as higher difficulty to make.  Opinions?  Is the DP lame?  Is there too much "standing position" inbetween the attacks or did I time it about right?  xD

That is supposed to be Akuma's signature move, so I thought that was good enough.  I did not want to overdo it either.
