[FIXED] No text in Halo

Hello everyone,

I decided to install Windows 7 on my PC. Then I reinstalled Halo and updated it. But now I can't see the chat text nor what I'm typing when I want to talk. However, I can see all other text like health, ammo or lap infos.

First, I thought a 'ksml' is missing but everything is there. Then I changed the font name to something that must be installed on every os. I changed my 1024log.ksml because my resolution is 1280x1024. Nothing helped.


Any suggestions?

After trying something I fixed it. If someone is interested...

In the Halo directory there is a 'msxml.exe' or 'msxmlenu.msi' or something like that. I had the  'msxmlenu.msi' and ran it. After installation completed I started Halo and everything works fine.

I guess these ksml files are XML like and Windows needs an XML parser.

im habing this problem too, but when i try to get 'msxmlenu.msi' to download the XML parser, itll download, but itll never show up in the folder.

Have you set Halo to "Run as Administrator" and to "XP Compatibility mode" in the shortcut for Halo??


...And you want to install the msxmlenu.msi that you'll find within the Halo installation folder.  (No other will correct the problem.)

i dont see anywhere where it says if its in administrator mode or not, and i dont have an XP compatibility mode. all i have are,95, 98/ ME, NT 4.0, and 2000.

'Sounds to me like you're running it on XP (native) then....

Anway... I have no other ideas for you.

I had same problem with Windows 7, new pc. Installed mxml.... and it works.
