Lag on server#1 only

Hi guys

I seem to have serious lag on server#1 every time I join.

Ping is 133 / 135 (ish) pretty much consistently, and not flapping around

Yet a few minutes later when I joined server#3 (ping 167) totally smooth, and no problems

server#1 gives me some very good laptimes (76.47 on Danger Canyon, 54.23 on Death Island etc) which are about a second faster than any other bfm server, but it's jerky, and blatantly lagging every time I'm on there.

Is there a diagnostic I can run from the console that will give me a clue (or allow me to give you a clue) as to what is going on?

I think the problem is that we just got a new server 1, so we're still testing it out to see how well it runs.  It's probably not your computer, but our server.  Thanks for telling us.

If you see anything out of the ordinary in the servers, let us know as well so that we can work on it.

Are you playing over a wireless network connection?

If so, you cannot diagnose it successfully....

...And you'll need to do DOZENS of trials between various servers to blame this one just one (or even a select few) of them....

Server 1 is laggy. I get lag as well, but only on that server.

Nope, a fairly reasonable ADSL, and a hardwired connection.

NB I'm a computer techie geek person - although mostly linux, nowadays - and am well aware of the limitations of wireless. I've been using Windows since the runtime versions that were distributed with Aldus PageMaker (v 1.0, I think), with MS-DOS 3.20, and Novell Netware 386.


But I'm a complte novice at using the Halo console! Prefer to drive and get fast(ish) laps...

Server 1 is laggy sometimes. It is being worked on. BFM hopes that you can be patient while we try and sort out what is happening with it...thank you .
