The Inheritance Cycle is a fantastic series I agree, and I can't wait until he writes the last book of the series. The Lord of the Rings is also one of my all time favorites. It can be a bit heavy, meaning Tolkien is very descriptive and some parts can really drag on. If you want to fully appreciate Lord of the Rings definitely read the appendix and all the extra stuff in the back of Return of the King. It has back story, elvish language translations, time lines, stuff that happens after the series, character descriptions, and lots of cool stuff. Fellowship of the Ring was by far the best of of the series (excluding the Hobbit).
The Merlin series by T. A. Barron was a fantastic series I read a while back. I remember I couldn't put it down I read the book wherever I went lol. If your a fantasy fan definitely check this series out. The Midnighters was also an excellent fantasy series, very good books. I read fantasy a lot and it's my favorite so I used to know a lot of good ones but that's all I can remember right now.
