I think you've misinterpreted that Mderms - looks to me like they're seriously thinking this through. But that doesn't mean the vote was just an excuse. I'll bet you that if no-one supported it then it wouldn't have happen. It just means that the Jmods have more confidence that these measures will be supported.

I for one will be interested to see what happens.

What would be funny is how that they would set a record for the most unsubscriptions in one day, instead of how many clicks they can get in a rigged poll with only one option in one day.

They now have a referendum going on which they call phase 2.

Phase 2: Referendum

The number of players who registered their name on the petition and the feedback in the forums and on fan sites has shown how passionate you are about this matter. The following referendum clarifies exactly what we propose to bring back, or not, based entirely on your votes. The referendum gives you the opportunity to vote "Yes" for the return of free trade & the wilderness, "I don't mind" either way or "No" to the proposal.

Please read through the following carefully and log in with your account to cast your vote as well as the option to see the results of the referendum.
About Free Trade:

    * - Unrestricted Free Trade between players
    * - Unlimited staking in the Duel Arena
    * - The Grand Exchange would remain, but with the lower and upper price limits removed
    * - Party Room drop restrictions removed
    * - Item Lending still available
    * - Assist System still available
    * - LootShare and CoinShare still available

About the Wilderness:

    * - The Wilderness becomes a rather dangerous area again and players can kill each other for their items
    * - PVP, Bounty and Bounty +1 Worlds removed (game mechanics may be re-used in the future)
    * - New objects that affect combat will be analysed on an individual basis
    * - Gravestones will still be used outside of the Wilderness
    * - Various PVP items and gear will still be available and won’t become 'rares'
    * - Revenants patrolling the Wilderness will be relocated
    * - Content located in the Wilderness will be reviewed as follows:
          o - Quests (e.g. Spirit of Summer) and Activities (e.g. Clan Wars) will be relocated
          o - Other content (e.g. Treasure Trails, the Beacon Network and D&Ds) will be looked at on a case-by-case basis


I think it's worth noting two things in there. Grand exchange price limits removed (highest and lowest), this would be awesome and also the return of staking.
You now have to login and vote Yes, No or Don't mind, whether if you want Wilderness/Free Trade back. Btw they have said before that they have ways of fighting Rwt and bots. I don't see why he shouldn't have wild/free trade back.

As I stated before, I could really care less about the wild. I've managed to avoid the dangers of it before while doing clues and the like before, I'll do it again.

What I won't accept is the fact that if they remove the upper and lower limits in the GE it will basically be back to spamming Falador world 2 for your resources, and I HATED doing that. With the upper and lower limits in the GE it created a nice established bar for prices set by players. Without those it could take three hours to buy one specific item. (Particularly quest items).

Well I must say I spent many hours trying to sell/buy things in Falador (world 2) or in Varrock (f2p) and I think it was great trying to buy something for the best price. I don't agree that the upper and lower limits in GE created a nice established prices set by players. The prices in GE were manipulated by players.

Btw the ge will still remain and you don't need to spend time in Falador shouting to everyone whatever you're wanting to buy or sell. The great thing about GE is that you can just leave your items there and whenever you come back you will have everything sold/bought.

I respectfully disagree.

Without the upper and lower levels you could try buying, say, a whip, at the old school price of 1m each. But people will still be trying to sell them at 3m-4m each and it will never sell, and there would be no way of knowing what the "established" price would be to try and meet somewhere in the middle in the GE, that's what I meant.

You will generally be able to find the "established" or "street" price on many fansites. Before the introduction of free trade, I used to check the prices on a fansite before I went spamming in W2 and they were usually very accurate.

Falador Park was where it was at, I honestly didn't mind having to type out "Buying st00f!!". 89%, golly, looks like it's going to go ahead at this stage.

YAYYYYYY I love the old way, man I might even play more now! Merchant here I come, I use to do this for hours lol. Just sit there and study the prices and then do it my self.
