So tell me... What was in YOUR closet as a kid?
« on: February 09, 2011, 01:11:12 PM »
Well well well... I was having weird dreams last night, where a skeleton with meaty bones walked out of my closet. Naturally, it was a traumatic experience. After waking up, checking all my body parts, and clearing out my closet with a loaded gun, I decided to post a random poll. OH JOY! So tell me people... what was the awful, scary, traumatic, wonderfulfluffycreature that would hide in YOUR closet/under your bed when you were little?

For me, it was boxes and boxes of spiders. Always coming out to kill me for smashing little Timmy the jumping spider earlier in the day.

Nyeh... never had a fear of things in my closet, only of darkness.

I never thought anything lived in the closet or under the bed, whatever, but woke up a few times to scaaaary things. I think I woke up anyway. :P

Once, I saw three snakes slithering up the blankets from the foot of the bed, and no matter how much I shook the blankets, they wouldn't be flung away.

Once there was a character from Pee-Wee's Playhouse hiding behind the closet door. It was the thing that was a big eyeball on legs, only more monstery. Scared me.

After walking into a cloud of gnats during the day, I woke up one night thinking there were bugs all over me and the wall and was flailing around and screaming. My mom came in and told me there wasn't anything there, and it took a while to convince me.

Oh, and then there was the babysitter that let us watch Aliens (the second one). Had one doozy of a nightmare from those alien samples in the three glass tanks. Carrie the Babysitter came in and calmed me down by telling me she'd never be able to watch us again if I said anything about seeing the movie and having a nightmare. Didn't make me feel better, but stifled me well enough. Thanks Carrie!

Here's the Pee-Wee monster! Its name was Roger and you can see its mouth on the side of... it. And its eye.

So far through my 13 years...nothing. Maybe something might come up farther along the line though.

I had an access to/from the attic in my bedroom closet, so all the carny-clown stuffed toys and accompanying midgets-wielding-big-knives up there in the attic kept me alert most nights.

No wonder I was always such a good shot with my BB gun!

(Oh, and I kept my scout knife in its sheath in my nightstand, too....)

Oh and about the whole closet thing. I slept in a room that had no closet doors so not much could hide in there! :)
