Hmmmm....  I swear I watched this - or a US version of it - back a bit ago....  ::)

Anyway....  After I saw the movie I took some interest in the actual battle and wondered what the relatively-small site of the battle looked like today. Along the way I was led to this excellent website about the battle.

I'm looking to see if I can stream the BBC2 broadcast....

Those questions were hard :P Great performance from you and the team.

I can honeslty say I knew one of the answers to the 50 or so questions answered... and that was "what's your name and what do you study"

Ah, the bitter taste of defeat. And the horribly cringe-worthy moment of seeing my face screw up as I realised that I had the wrong answer and had to think of another one fast...

And it's spelt Tevatron BBC subtitles department!!! :toughguy:

There's a show in the UK (I'm sure there's a US or even Austrailian counterpart) called "The University Challenge" where two teams from two different universities answer quick-fire questions for points to up their score. The winning team after thirty minutes, the show's length, proceed to the finals until there is a winning team for the series.

This thread is about our wonderously clever BFM_Three60 being on that show broadcast yesterday... and he did very well.

I doubt it's on YouTube though so unless you have BBCiPlayer, watching a re-run may prove tricky.

That wasn't about the battle at Thermopylae at all!!!!  :toughguy:

All that local lore [which had me totally baffled] and then up pops "What is the eighth prime number?"   ::)  :siderofl:
(GJ BTW!)

Please tell me what that stuffed animal/puppet thingy was down front of y'all....  ::)

...And WHY do a group of medical students know so much about all that other stuff?!?

In any event: well played!

P.S. And you are WAY overdressed for that show, J360!

Never said it was, but it was a good way to prove that it was me. Or,  at least, that I had been there.

Thank you! The counting went, as I recall,  "2, 3, 5, 7, 19!" somehow correctly skipping the next three. Must just have known intuitively that 19 was the fourth prime after 7.

That's an owl called Athena. And my pet weasel called Runner. And a bust of Some Greek guy.

Those medics have previous degrees - one Oxford Classicist, one Cambridge Natural Scientist, and one with an English degree, an done other I know not what. So they have actually a wide range of experience and, as you saw, it showed.
