I use a Logitech Clearchat Comfort USB. It's cheap and comfortable, and good quality. I've been using it for like 4 years not and never had an issue. You can pick up one for around $30-$50... I don't think it's necessary to spend over $100 on a headset.

Stay away from afterglow... most of their products are garbage and either don't work out of the box, or fail within a month. I went through FOUR of their clear controllers before I finally gave up. People at Gamestop say they get so many returns on ALL their products they don't know how the company makes any money.

Razer is a known and trusted brand, and personally I'd pick the Carchrias.

Benjy,

I had these for about 3 years.  They're over-the-ear style, but they're really comfortable and flexible.   Between $30-60 depending on where you buy them.

They may not look like much, but they're well made, and you can adjust them so you forget you're wearing them.

The non-USB version is definitly the worst headphones I've ever had.

I've bought my headset like 3 months ago and I have to say they are just amazing. I have Gamecom 380 PC Gaming Headset. I bought them from Amazon UK and they cost me 20£ plus the VAT's (it ended up being 33 euros). There are higher versions of this headset with 7.1 surround system and other stuff but I wasn't that high on budget and didn't really needed anything big. Go check some reviews on this one. I highly recommend it.
