Guitarists? Collaborate with Vision Red? (Me)
« on: February 18, 2013, 05:27:14 PM »
See update on this song's progress here

I require a guitarist for a song I'm working on. Since i gave my last guitar to a friend, whos cat went to town with it...

DOWNLOAD LOOP (Soundcloud Link)
*Download by clicking on the icon under the player - its a downward facing arrow with the line underneath it.

DETAILS:
I need 32 bars worth of chorded acoustic strumming, improvise a chorded pattern to work with this melody but dont be afraid to experiment throughout the 32 bars either.

And then it would be nice to get a lead electric guitar solo, 32 bars again. Doesn't need to have reverb or delay effects or anything like that, I can add that in myself.

Send a few ideas if you want.

RECORDING:
Ideally it would be great if you could just record your work without my melody in the background (obviously because it will be in the song anyway) but don't worry too much about your recording, static/background/white noise can be rectified on my end. Record preferably in WAV/MP3 Format (non-essential).

FINANCIAL:
Song will be shared and free to download across various multimedia platforms (youtube/soundcloud/mixcloud/reverbnation/fandalism etc etc etc) but I am more than happy to make a purchase for the guitar work if necessary.

TITLE:
By rights the title will include your name if you wish (Artist or Real name)
e.g : VISION RED Ft. Name - Beg For Mercy

xD Sounds like a nice project for Marty or Fender.
Being a good racer in Halo isn't just about getting the best times. You have to know where your teammates and enemies are, and most of all... how to be crafty! XD -nods-

Oh... and "v.v" = sad face.

Props to Plixity for the first sig, Slayton for the Season XIII trophy sig, and Jane for the banner! Thx guys! ^.^

Sounds like a nice project for Marty or Fender.

I'd be happy to, but I don't have any decent recording equipment at my house. I can give it a go, if you like, but I can't guarantee any sort of decent sound to what I record.

EDIT: Also, what kind of solo are we talking about? Sticking within the key you've established, or a bit more 'outside' playing? Straight 4/4 rhythms or odd groupings (5/4, 7/8, etc)? Blues? Metal? Jazz? Rock?

Anything Marty, today I was kind of thinking of going with the kind of strumming pattern at the beginning of this dance song, or the kind of pattern on 'Oasis - Wonderwall', but I'm not dead set on anything yet, if you want to mix it up and improvise then go ahead man :)

So had a few things sent my way. All good, some fit very well with the melody, well done to those people and thanks for sharing your work!

Hogzilla's work got the pick of the bunch, check a preview here!

Just started working on it so no play too loudy. Speakers can be replaced, ears cant!

You n me both zilla. Might just do another "rock-step" song soon ill cook a melody and throw it up again like i did for this one. As said on FB it was a pleasure doing this, especially with people i know beforehand.
And like you said the ability to work with someone on the other side of the globe just makes it all the more better!

Now comes the more tedious part, spreading it across the interwebs. Small time facebook music promotion pages getting the brunt end of the spamming these days  ;D Beatport, looperman, soundcloud, mixcloud, mix.dj, plug.dj, fandalism, youtube, errrrrr. Say if anyone reading this has any other ideas where to share music, gimme a shout.  :)

Glad you like it Superman. Spread it! As stated though its version 3 and the sound aint mastered yet, there will be various dents a scuffs in the audio and will be noticeable if playing loud on a good sound system.
I need studio time, or just some good studio monitors and hundreds of egg cartons. Either will do.
