Looking for headsets again
« on: March 24, 2013, 05:54:26 PM »
Well i will be working again in a few months and i am looking for a cheap headset that is durable. looking around $40-$100 for a head set. I have a problem with a speaker going out or something breaks. and apparently its mostly the wire.

Prefer a headset with mic mute and volume. good bass and maybe base control slider?

http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-carcharias-for-xbox-pc. My Carcharias(slightly older edition) has served me well, and still works decently, but the wiring has gone a little choppy due to the volume control being run over or stepped on a few dozen times ::). Extremely comfortable, excellent sound, mic mute, volume control.

^^ Done by me(freshly updated :))

^^ Big thanks to bl!Tz'

This is the headset I am currently using. I bought it off of Amazon for 60 or 70 USD. It has 7.1 dolby surround sound, it's comfortable, and the mic quality is very good. There are volume controls on the left ear speaker, as well as a button to switch between surround sound and stereo

I've been using this one for four (five?) years now....

'Comfy and they don't make a huge dent across the top of my huge frizzy hairdo. (Yes, I'm and old man with a full head of curly grey hair....  :o )

Can't lose at US$10, either....

P.S. Plan on (possibly) buying a replacement pair of foam ear cups about every 4-5 years tho.

I'm using a Gamecom as well but not the 780. Gamecom 380. Also bought from Amazon (UK one). Everything that Mig said, except the 7.1 dolby surround (I think 380 has 5.1). Also they have a stronger cord than usual headsets that normally fall apart. I think 780 is usb connectable while 380 has the mic/sound jacks.

thanks guys much appreciated with all of the info. i decided to get these. I just got em on wednesday. ordered from Walmart.com the site to store. They are comfortable and really nice. Only issue i noticed is that for the ear cups the fabric they use is glued down and not sown. i had to do a bit of cruddy sowing to help fix it. It was a thing that is most people that have em experience. But other then that its really nice.
2 interchangeable mics. one small for the use of samsung phones, any tablets. and one boom stick for pc gaming.
couple different interchangeable cords. for cord to phone, cord to apple comps and one with a volume and mute.
Well designed and durable :)
