Xfire VS Ventrilo?
« on: November 23, 2007, 09:38:50 PM »
Ok, so let's say I have ventrilo and xfire open. I go to close xfire out by right-clicking the icon on the tool bar, and clicking exit. Instantly, I'm disconnected from Ventrilo. If I close out ventrilo while xfire is open, this doesn't happen. Anybody know what's going on here?

Vista stinks, I'd downgrade to XP.

Vista really has no features that aren't already in XP except for all the visual effects which slow the computer down.

Well, it has DirectX 10 (and it's the ONLY WAY TO GET that), which will soon take advantage of new graphics adapter capabilities to make some very pretty in-play screens....

But let's not get into another Vista-bashing thread, pls.

The moral is: that's your problem. Those programs are "new to Vista" and are likely having interaction problems as a result.

According to the lawyer in the commerical they are up-grading to a older, more familiar version.

I have never had this issue with vista. Hmmm... must be the new version of vent that BFM is using. Not sure though. Have you tried closing Xfire from the File Menu instead. That is the way that it SHOULD be closed. I believe that the other way is the equivalent of alt+f4ing to close it. Try that and see if it gives the same result. If that changes anything then maybe you should close things right :P

This was why I did not want to get the first version of Vista......soooooo many bugs.   I will wait until they work them all out and come out with a second version.  Bad thing about waiting is that some of the new games coming out require you to have Vista to play them. :'(
