CE not working

when i go into halo CE, i can choose all of the options fine, but when i go to get the game list, it says that i need a mandatory, manual update, but even after i have done that, it still doesn't work. any ideas of what i could do?

Make sure you have the maps that you want to play on, visit www.halomaps.org for them, and they also have some troubleshooting pages

i have downloaded each map, and downloaded the patch, it still does not work.  any more ideas?

Try re-installing everything again.
If that fails i find hitting the computer to help

that one is not necessary i never did it

I can join games that have maps from the normal halo, BG, BA, Timberland, etc.  However, when i try to join a game that is from CE, it gives me an error that says   Unable to join the server!

Are you using a map manager of any type?   If so, the maps, other than the default Halo maps, may not be active and the game is not seeing them.

the only problem that i am having right now, is not being able to play the new maps.  i can play the normal maps fine, i just can't play the new ones.

Are you using a map manager of any type?   If so, the maps, other than the default Halo maps, may not be active and the game is not seeing them.

Are you copying the expanded/downloaded non-default maps into your Halo "maps" folder?@?

(Don't put the .zip file in there!  double-click the .zip file and drag the .map file from the new popup window into your Microsoft Games\Halo\maps folder ....)

Ok, let's start fresh.  If I understand correctly, you can play all the default maps, but can't join our server, which does not use defualt maps. 

1.  Can you join other servers?  If so, are they using default maps only?
2.  You have downloaded our current map rotation, located >>HERE<<.  The maps can be found at www.halomaps.org
3.  You have placed the .map files (not the .zip file) in your Halo CE maps directory?  Make sure CE is NOT running when you place the new maps or it will not see the newly placed files.
4.  If you are using a map manager, the non-defualt maps need to be "active".  If they are aren't, for all intents and purposes, CE will consider them non .map files.
