Dominator is like the overclocking enthusiast brand, while XMS3 is more mainstream.

Normally Dominator RAM costs more.

This is correct but as waty said XMS3 (Xtreme Series) are still dominators slightly but lower range and the ones people want are the Dominator GT's as they are the beasts and ridiculiously powerful and come with a air flow cooler.

Nice system.

I have 2 things I noticed. Dont get the caviar green HDD's they have rather bad read/write speeds, but they do consume less power. Have a look at some other HDD's from Western Digital

Also a UPS? Can you give me a link to a $31 UPS that can supply a computer for 3 days because that sounds a little suss. What VA (or watts) does it supply?

Also would like to add the ATi HD5850 is pretty much the same price and performance to the 285, however it has DX11 if your interested. However if your an Nvidia fan, they will be releasing their new GT300 series (Fermi) later on this month (Nov) so dont buy anything until after that date since card prices will go down because of it. Plus they might have something equal price to the 285, but DX11 and possibly better performance.

How bout a Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB? I've heard they work quite well. Only other WD I could find that was 1TB and was of good quality is the Caviar Black, and their all of out it

The shipping is basically the standard shipping of Newegg :P(but as you can see it went to $54 instead of $31 when I changed the HD :XD:)

And I originally planned on an ATI 5850, but didn't the 285 beat it in the benchmarks? Or were they about equal? Although I do like the DX11 feature of the 5850. But this card is overclocked as well, which means its going to cost more and will have slightly better benchmarks ;D

Here are the overclocked stats on it:

Core Clock: 675MHz ( v.s. 648 standard)
Shader Clock: 1548MHz ( v.s. 1476 standard)

Memory Clock: 2538MHz (v.s. 2484 standard)

Although I COULD buy a standard 285 and OC it myself, I'd rather just buy it OC'd already(I'm quite good at OCing, at least with processors, but I'm a bit shady on video cards :haw:)

Definately stick with the 260, 275, 285 or 295 as they are much more powerful eventhough, the new ATi's have DX11 and on benchmarks the fps is basically double especially on the 295 :XD:

Also if you're going for that price of build dont go for a AMD or Intel Quad go to the i7 because in testings the 2 most powerful Quads for AMD and Intel were against just a standard i7 920 and from that the Quads gave out 4000 processes with all 4 cores running maximum output whereas, the i7 gave out a massive 8000 so thats double the power and more amazingly it was only using 2 of the 4 cores. P.s i7 is rated much easier to OC too :clint:

Especially with an O.C.'d 285 ;D

i7 fan eh? Well obviously your forgetting that most of the Phenom II's are running dual channel DDR2, whereas the i7's are running on triple channel DDR3, so of COURSE they are going to have better stats on the tests. The AMD, while a little bit older, still has a very good price v.s. performance ratio, and doesn't cost an arm and half a kidney .

The AMD is also quite easy to O.C., and keeps pretty cool, even when clocked up to 4.0. Although any higher and you should probably get water cooling, but that's pretty much the requirement for any highly O.C.'d processor.

£400 in USD is $594.24

Most 30"+ monitors here in the US are going to cost around $500-$600 minimum, unless you find a really good sale. Plus, like I said before, its overkill. Unless its going to double as a TV, then its unecessary and a waste of money. I'm planning on going with something in the 20"-24", which is reasonable. :keke:
