 :)

I live in Canada so I couldn't vote for him.  But he's definatively the man of the situation in my opinion.

I'm going to leave my congratulation to him here as I think he deserve it.

Congrats O8ama

I was going for him even though I can't vote because I'm too young and live in New Zealand.

Congratulations Barack Obama! :yesyes:

I have no idea how the voting system works in the United States... :P

I'm watching CNN now; McCain is making his 'congratulatory speech'.  ;D
 :usa:

He will make a change to the United States... Hopefully a good change! :)

Would of loved to vote for McCain but couldnt, too young. Btw isnt it technically not allowed to talk about politics in the bfm forums and servers? Just what i got the impression of from wat ive seen in the servers.

I'll keep the majority of my comments to myself for the sake of keeping political argument away from this thread.

On that note, I was a solid McCain voter, and my mind couldn't be swayed . I admired his political experience, his military experience, and how he had great support in his debates for blue collared workers (seemingly more than his competitor). That being said, my entire town, including myself, was full of McCain voters, but in the end, New York wound up giving its Electoral College votes to Obama...that sorta raised my blood pressure...

BUT

All that aside, I'm not happy that McCain lost, HOWEVER, I am very glad that an African American can be elected President. It truly shows that this country, that just 40-60 years ago, was overrun with segregation, has overcome racism and segregation to the point of being able to support an African American in the Presidential Election. Today is truly history in the making.

Here's hoping for a new & improved era in this great country. Congratulations Barack Hussein Obama!

This is a little different. The forums are here for conversation, the servers are not. Also, political names in servers are frowned upon because it might make some people uneasy to see "This Guy killed Obama" or "You were killed by McCain." Yeah...it's slightly different here. And besides, this is simply a congratulatory thread for our new President.  :)

I know that is the reason why this is an historical day.  But I want to say that we should really see over the fact that he is black.  Because he is a man before anything else and voting for him because of a skin color (even if it happened alot today) is just wrong.

He is a man, a good man and that is the important.  Don't go and think im saying McCain is a bad one.. but to me his origins isn't really important as long as he was born in USA, of course.

My single point I would like to make....

No matter which presidential canidate wins/won.... No matter which canidate you choose/chose... It is important to remeber that patriotism is what has held America together.  I support America's choice... United we stand!
