Nope, if the first didn't happen, the second wouldn't have.

Joe smith, a simple man from a simple life set out for town to settle some of the debt he owned to the bank. He had taken out a loan for another 100 acres of farmland and the bank didn't want to wait till next harvest for the money. He had dipped into his savings and had collected just enough to keep the bank off his back for at least another season. He looked in the rear view mirror of his truck, peering at the box full of all his buisness documents, his life in a box. He leaned to the left, bringing his eight year old son into view. The young boy was looking out the window, this was his first time into the city. It was a long drive for him but he was too excited to pass it up. Once he looked up he met his father's eyes in the mirror, he let out a big smile and covered his eyes, it was a game he often played with his mother. The father would have smiled back but his eyes were drawn to the road, there was a car broken down by the side of the road, the driver was looking under the hood. Joe pulled over and turned back to his son.
"Were only a few miles from the city, I'm going to see if this guy needs help, you stay tight ok?" His son nodded back at him. Joe approached the car and asked the man what the problem was. The man turned and identified himself as bob, after a short description Joe stuck his head under the hood. Something sharp touched the back of his neck, his hair stood on end.
"My car is fine, I'm more interested in your wallet", Bob whispered. Joe could only think of his son, once Bob saw him he would have ever reason to take him as well, he had to do something. Joe tried to turn and grab the object but he wasn't fast enough.
Bob searched his body, found a wallet with a large wad of cash. He snickered and closed the hood of the car, turned to stash the body and saw a young boy standing by the truck. His eyes were weeping, his cheeks puffed and red, his hands shook as he aimed his fathers pistol at the man who took his father away from him.
Bob made a lunge at the boy but like his previous victim, he was too slow.

Joe died and Bob was shot.

-takes his gloves off and tosses them at Bob- I challenge you to a duel!

Anyway, my theory is that Joe and Bob are doing just that, having a duel.

Bob was the faster shot and managed to kill Joe. Joe, being a fast shot but not so great with aim managed to hit Bob.

And if that's not right.... I have a question.

Did it happen in the same order you posted it Jane? Joe dying and then Bob getting shot or does it matter?
Being a good racer in Halo isn't just about getting the best times. You have to know where your teammates and enemies are, and most of all... how to be crafty! XD -nods-

Oh... and "v.v" = sad face.

Props to Plixity for the first sig, Slayton for the Season XIII trophy sig, and Jane for the banner! Thx guys! ^.^

They're not in a dual.

And your question: Yes, in that order, and it does matter.

Was bob young or old
was Joe old or young
Did joe have a loofah
did bob want joes Loofah
was there something that joe had that bob wanted

Joe was holding a gun while on his death-bed having just caught sweating sickness (a disease that actually doesn't exist any more having burnt itself out in the late 1600's), pointing it at Joe, and passed away. In the usual rigor mortis type thing the hand holding the gun squeezed the trigger.

Alternatively, Joe and Bob were prisoners-of-war about to be executed, only Joe luckily passed away beforehand from some nasty illness or other. Bob, surviving this disease, lived long enough to face the punishment.

Kiwi got it on Vent. There were lots of questions but it was Kiwi who asked the right one: What he shot out of a cannon? Yes he was!

Joe died, he was sick, poor Joe. He couldn't go to work, where he was circus performer, the guy who gets shot out of a cannon. As it's the circus and the show must go on, Bob was his replacement and was shot out of the cannon instead.

oh me!

ur up kiw
